Description:

Manufactured with hardened, heat-treated carbon steel, Split drive anchors are available with a flat, countersunk head or a rounded head. There are two sheared, pre-expanded halves at the base of the anchor that is compressed as the anchor are driven into the concrete. The anchor exerts tremendous force on the inside walls of the hole as the two halves continually try to regain their original shape. This positive expansion compensates for poor grade or old concrete. Concrete Split Drive anchors have low “slip” rates and increased vibration resistance.

Lithium Americas’ US$2.23bn Thacker Pass project hits 93% design completion, with its Nevada workforce set to double to 1,800 employees by late 2026

Lithium Americas is making significant construction progress at its Thacker Pass lithium project in Northern Nevada, with the development representing one of the largest mining construction projects currently underway in the US.

The Canadian mining corporation has released its Full Year 2025 results, highlighting substantial advancement across the site as it works towards bringing industrial-scale lithium production online.

The project could play a vital role in strengthening America’s critical minerals supply chain, with the facility designed to extract lithium from one of the world’s largest known reserves.

Met-Top E is a screedable, high strength emery aggregate based topping intended for use where heavy impact, gouging and abrasion are primary floor service conditions. This product is usually applied as a bonded topping over properly prepared existing concrete at a 2 inch (50.8 mm) thickness. Met- Top E can be placed up to 6 inches (152.4 mm) thick.

Walking the floor at CONEXPO this week was an incredible reminder of just how fast innovation is moving in construction and heavy equipment. A few highlights that stood out:

-Best technology I found on the floor: the Verifi® platform from GCP. It provides live, actionable data to manage concrete production and delivery, giving teams real visibility across the entire process and recommendations for improvement.

-Smart technology everywhere – Robots, sensors, automation, and connected equipment in nearly every hall (and outside too). The integration of data and machines is clearly shaping the future of job sites.

- Some vendors definitely brought their sense of humor to their booths — which made walking miles of exhibits a lot more fun.

-The scale of the equipment was impressive — and by impressive I mean really big machines that make you stop and stare.

- A personal favorite: the CAT equipment demo in the Festival Grounds. Seeing that power and precision in action is always a highlight.

Events like CONEXPO show how technology, data, and equipment are coming together to drive smarter, safer, and more efficient construction projects.
