It is with great sadness that I have to share this message. On Friday November 15th, I was presented a 30 day notice of termination of my Carquest partnership agreement. After 5pm Friday December 13th, Carquest of Unadilla will no longer operate under the Carquest name. I will operate on a limited schedule on a “cash only” basis under my LLC name in effort to liquidate my current inventory, (I’m currently unsure of weather or not I’ll be entertaining the idea of a new supplier). This decision was not made by me. This was a decision made by the partner/supplier, and had nothing to do with my store directly. I cannot express how much I appreciate all of the local support we’ve received over this last 4 years. You’ve all made such a huge impact on my life, and I can never thank you all enough for the opportunities you’ve provided me. I wish you all the best in your auto parts needs, and never hesitate to reach out to me personally if you ever need anything. It’s been my pleasure to help and serve this great community.

On this day, 4 years ago, in 2020, was my first day in the role of “owner” of Carquest of Unadilla . A deal was presented to me that caught my attention. An opportunity to purchase a small auto parts store in a small town. It lacked many things, but good ol fashioned small business supporters was not one of them. It lacked inventory, and the idea of expansion. Over the last 4 years, we’ve made countless upgrades, in both inventory AND technology, along with so many other things. We’ve built relationships with so many new comers to our store. With the addition of 2 new big part store names coming to our very small market this year (now making 5 total, me being the smallest), all we can ask is that you consider allowing Carquest Of Unadilla a chance to earn your business so we can hopefully see a 5th anniversary and many more after that. We appreciate everything you all have done for us, and we look forward to continuing the services we provide as the criteria to remain a Carquest store continues to grow harder and harder to maintain with the cost of doing business constantly increasing. Thank you all, and we hope to be around to help with all of your auto parts needs!

I did a little auto parts pricing experiment, all the same thing for the same vehicle, all the local stores, and RETAIL prices, here are the numbers I got (including tax);

Competitor 1: $180.54
Competitor 2: $179.16
Competitor 3: $160.05
Competitor 4 $156.58

Carquest of Unadilla : $146.94

How can a little single location independent store have the best price? Easily, because we aren’t here to send your money up the ladder to people in overpaid positions. Your money stays in OUR store to pay OUR bills and grow the company when and where possible. We are customer owned, not corporate owned. Thank you to those that choose to support and shop small!!! We appreciate you, and the prices show that! Of course we do our best to price match local competitors when we are NOT the least expensive around also!

Ok.. I.T. Worked their magic and got my whole store back up and online! All of my ordering sources are also back online, so Monday SHOULD start and operate as a normal day.. thanks again for your patience!

Well.. CURRENTLY I have one fully functional computer at the store .. it allowed me to import yesterdays data and sales, I have not tried a card sale yet but I’ll be here till 1 today if anyone wants to give it a shot! Carquest of Unadilla thanks our loyal customers for their patience and understanding! 🙂

UPDATE: CLOSED! See you all tomorrow AM with hopes of having the ability to do business. Thank you all for working with me and being patient up to this point.

UPDATE: everything is still down and cards no longer work, so we are now CASH ONLY for the remainder of the day. If IT cannot get this fixed by 3PM today, I will be closing at 3.

Carquest of Unadilla currently only has ONE working computer, we ARE able to look up parts and make sales, cards are working so far, please be patient with us until this “outage” is restored. Thanks!

Our plan thus far is afton Friday, still not sure if we’ll have a full team to be able to run skyline Saturday, if we do we’ll let all 3 of our fans know once we decide 🤣

Friday, 24th: Closing at NOON
Saturday, 25th CLOSED
Sunday, 26th CLOSED (as usual)
Monday, 27th CLOSED

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday the 28th.
