It’s that time of year!!
After a long winter, spring is finally on the horizon.
That means I will be getting donations together, specifically for two of my contacts.

Baseball (Liberty Bell Youth Association)

Bikes (Boys& Girls Clubs of Mercer County)

Recently received a request from a family in need of some camping gear. They went out last year in a state parks program that allows you to
borrow equipment, but would like to go on their own. However, they are not in a position to buy the gear themselves.

It’s mom, an 11 year old and a 17 year old.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tents
Sleeping bags
Etc
Anything camping related.

This is basically what my goal for Level Playing Field is...
Find people with specific needs, then use my network of people to help.

Merry Christmas to all!!!

Thank you to all that have donated this year. It truly means the world to me. Together, we have accomplished so much! All it took was a bit of time, effort and compassion.

Don’t forget, please don’t throw out those old bikes and scooters.
They could make a huge difference in an underprivileged child’s life!

All of these bikes were picked up yesterday by Kyle, he is on the board at the Mercer County Boys and Girls club. I’d like to thank him for giving up a portion of his Sunday to do this. I’m constantly humbled by selfless actions like this.

I am also grateful for all the donations and the opportunity to make another solid connection with like minded people. Building my network in this way ensures that everything I get eventually winds up in the hands of a child in need.

Early morning drop off for LPF.
Little back story behind these bikes:

Two of these bikes are directly from my family.
One was saved from the trash by my Dad.
One was donated by my Nephew.

This is my family making a direct impact on someone else’s family that happened to be in need. It cost us nothing.

The reason for sharing is not to receive adulation, it’s so the reader will consider paying it forward in some small way. I guarantee you will have a better day after doing so! It’s almost Christmas, people! Who doesn’t wanna feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

One of the best parts of collecting donations from people who are caring enough to give, is the interaction and stories I hear.

One of the things I’ll do if I know I am close to making a drop off of specific items, is reach out to people selling low price items on marketplace. Sometimes I buy them for as cheap as they let them go. Sometimes people donate after I share some info with them.

Recently I reached out to a gentleman, who preferred to remain anonymous, about some boxing gloves he was selling. He seemed more then happy to donate a few pairs of gloves. Mind you, this is his business. Not just some equipment that’s been lying around collecting dust (my specialty)

When I met him in his store he told me about how he grew up. He told me about how he always wanted to try new sports and activities, but was aware that his parents weren’t in a position to pay for the equipment.

Together, we wondered what would happen if the next great in a certain sport was deprived the opportunity to play, simply because of economic status. This was his reason for donating and a huge part of my mission statement...

We need more people like this in the world and specifically in our country and community.
