This is Bryan. Bryan made some good moves here by having us change his Cat C-15 crankshaft damper BEFORE the crankshaft breaks, as opposed to after. (Its cheaper)

He also had us modify his software to turn the fan on at 205 instead of 217, and we think that's pretty cool. 🥶

Liner cavitation is bad stuff.

Use a quality antifreeze, change it at reasonable intervals, and maintain SCA levels when applicable. Make sure your cooling system is grounded while you're at it to prevent electrolysis.

Don't skimp on the machine work at rebuild time. If you're not having lower bore block erosion/concentricity checked and repaired, your liners may look like this sooner than later.

Make sure your radiator cap holds correct pressure. Low pressure creates a more inviting environment for cavitation.

This large car was bought with a fresh platinum kit installed in its C15 ACERT, but suffered a blown head gasket a short time later from low liners. Bummer.

Sometimes the Cat gods show mercy, and the measurements allow us to make a drastically cheaper, but effective, long term repair with a .335 spacer plate under the cylinder head. For that we thank them!
