Yesterday, we gathered to mourn the loss of two brave souls from the Newark, NJ Fire Department. They were laid to rest after making the ultimate sacrifice while in the line of duty. Their dedication to protecting our community will never be forgotten. May their families find strength during this difficult time, and may the memories of their loved ones be a source of comfort and pride.

Let us take a moment to appreciate the selflessness and courage of all firefighters who risk their lives daily to keep us safe. They don the blue uniform not for fame or fortune but out of a sense of duty and a commitment to serve others. They are the true heroes, quietly and tirelessly working to protect our lives and property.

As we have paid our final respects, let us continue to honor their legacy by supporting our firefighters and all first responders who demonstrate unwavering dedication and bravery in the face of danger.

May God keep all firefighters safe, and may we never forget the sacrifice of those who have fallen while serving their community. 🙏🚒💙
