This spring, Mechanical Engineer Genevieve Bourgeois brought her passion for STEM to Incarnate Word Academy, an all-girls private high school, inspiring Project Lead the Way and other students during the “Engineering Her Future” event. This initiative, led by the school’s computer science teacher Emily Moore, is all about encouraging young women to explore the limitless possibilities of STEM careers. Genevieve was joined by Bayer Software Developer Cori Compton. This marks Genevieve’s second presentation of its kind, and her dedication shines through everything she does.

Genevieve shared, “A big divide in the male-dominated field of engineering is because young women do not picture themselves in the career, or don't know much about it. I'm passionate about outreach to young women about the field of engineering to educate and encourage women into such a rewarding and stable career!”

🎳Administrative Professionals Day🎳

McClure Engineering is nothing without our fearless Project Coordinators. You could say we would be lost without them. Adrift in a sea more inhospitable than the North Atlantic in April with nary a life preserver. Fortunately for us, we don’t have to imagine such a titanic catastrophe as we are equipped with some of the best in the biz.

And to kickstart Administrative Professionals Day to celebrate these fine individuals, our Chief of Staff Maggie Leffel organized an evening of bowling at Saratoga Lanes. The coordinators laced up their bowling shoes, ordered the quintessential bowling lane fare, equipped Janelle with her Birthday Hat, and threw caution (and their chosen bowling ball) to the wind.

Thank you for all you do ladies, we couldn’t do it without you!

🍖Salt + Smoke Showdown 2026

This years eating challenge, henceforth known as Anuj Bhargava Day, took place at Salt + Smoke in Downtown St. Louis so our intrepid gorgers could walk those calories off on the way back to the office. No postprandial somnolence (post-lunch dip) for these engineers!

Congrats to Seth Marton (1st), Connor Sands (2nd) and Jack Kellet (3rd).

What did they consume exactly in those record times? Well, how about the 3-meat combo plate with 4oz of brisket, pulled pork and turkey and a side of baked beans and potato salad. I just got stomach cramps from typing that out.

While the eating challenge has changed locations a few times over the years, it is still one of McClure Engineering’s time-honored traditions thanks to Anuj’s advocacy of the joys of speed eating. Not one to shy away from creating a true challenge for his colleagues, he always seems to organize it on the Friday before our last weigh in for the Biggest Loser contest. Coincidence? PIE Day 2026: The Final Pieing (Rated GP for Gratuitous Pieing) 🥧

For PIE Day, McClure Engineering hosted a live auction, giving participants the chance to bid for the honor of pieing daring volunteers, all in the name of charity!

As is usually the case, some of our intrepid volunteers found themselves stuck in meetings or on job sites at the time of their scheduled pieing. This was most unfortunate, and highly suspect to be honest. But never fear! We at McClure Engineering are all about the health and wellness of our team, and a huge part of our own mental health depends on certain people getting pied for charity. So, it was only natural that we would reschedule the festivities for these certain, hard-working individuals.

Pies were thrown (and consumed), and an additional $870 was raised for CHADS Coalition for Mental Health , bringing our total to a whopping $ 6,580!

Our Net-ural Calling!
Meet the McClure Volleyballers: McClure Kill-a-Watts & McClure AirHandlers! 🏐

You heard right, volleyball is here and we’re bringing the energy. The Softballers had better watch out, because the new cool kids have arrived!

Under the star leadership of Genevieve Bourgeois and Robert McCauley, our teams are hitting their stride. Even a practice rainout couldn't stop us. After a last-minute practice before the first game, first-timers Abigail & Rohan bravely stepped on the court (why did they sign up with no experience? The mystery continues!).

From Allison’s legendary Hobbit Shuffle Serve to Patrick’s towering blocks, the AirHandlers learned from the best (The Kill-a-Watts, obviously) in order to face off against tough competition later on.

Then the Kill-a-Watts took the Red Court by storm, winning all their matches against The Spikers. Mike gallantly declared that “Sand volleyball might be our thing!”

The AirHandlers endured a chilly late-night loss to The Sixers on the blue court (aptly named), but the spirit stayed high. Frosty toes, epic serves, and a broken nail later, we remembered: it’s all about great teamwork and new friendships!

Volleyball season is off to a fantastic start and we’re loving every minute. Go McClure Engineering!

At McClure Engineering, 🥧PIE Day🥧 is more than a tasty treat. It is a chance to throw a pastry in the face of those you admire while the whole company cheers you on! You can’t buy these kind of memories!

It is also a chance to raise 💰money💰for a good cause. This year, all funds raised ($5,710 total…so far!) will go to to help prevent depression and su***de by providing evidence-based counseling, education, and support for youth, families, and communities. As champions of Health and Wellness, this a cause especially close to our hearts. A special shoutout to Melissa Brickey and Colleen Suber who stopped by to witness the festivities and to give us the scoop on what CHADS is all about.

But the fun isn’t over just yet! A few team members temporarily escaped their frosty fates due to “meetings”, but we are nothing if not persistent in our need for just deserts – additional pieing and money raising will be held at the end of the month during one of our happy hours. So, stay tuned!
