Great River Engineering’s Transportation and Bridge Teams have been busy these last few weeks. Team members have presented at 3 different professional conferences across the State. In August the Transportation Team presented two separate projects at the Ozark Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers Fall Technical Conference at OTC in Springfield. Transportation team members, Jerany Jackson - PLA, Shannon Shank – PE, PTOE, and Mike Beaty – PE, PTOE presented their work on the Silver Dollar City Parking Lot and 76 Highway project in the morning session. Later, Garen McElroy - PE, Shannon Shank and Mike Beaty closed out the seminar with a presentation of Great River Engineering’s cooperative work with MoDOT on the Highway 86/Thunder Ridge Arena Project.
At the end of August, Evan Lewis - PE (Bridge Team) and Mike Beaty – PE, CFM (Transportation Team) presented their Finley River HEC-RAS 1D vs 2D Model Comparison to the Missouri Floodplain and Stormwater Managers Association (MFSMA) conference at Lake of the Ozarks.
On Thursday of this last week Austin Hostettler - EIT, Shannon Shank and Mike Beaty returned from presenting their Balancing the Capacity and Safety Improvements of the Highway 86 improvements project to the State of Missouri’s Show Me Zero Highway Safety and Traffic Conference in Columbia, Missouri. Attendees at that conference requested that our Team present the same program to MoDOT’s Spring 2024 TEAM conference and the Missouri APWA Chapter’s fall 2024 conference.
Next week, Shannan Shank, Jerany Jackson and Mike Beaty will round out the 2023 calendar year with an updated presentation of their Silver Dollar City Parking Lot and 76 Highway project to the Missouri Valley Institute of Transportation Engineers (MOVITE) Fall 2023 conference in Bentonville, Arkansas.
