Shop updates:
Finished up this computer mount for my Garmin. Working on cockpit simplification and trying to add some more TTT touches to my bike. It’s really dang cool to ride something you’ve made.

This was a fun part and I tried to avoid the “mass production” design mindset and just make something I was into. Some small cutters and a lot more ball milling than I’d normally use.

I also finished up the updated rear derailleur hanger with the learnings from simulations. Worked great! I have a hard time being totally convinced that the shifting is improved but dang if it doesn’t feel better!

Not really sure where I go with these long term for now they are just for me and my slowly outdating bike components.

I've been working on getting these ready for a while and here they are! ⁠

These titanium screws are designed to replace the bleed screws on Shimano road shifters. If you've worked on Shimano road bike levers you've likely experience the horror of a stuck bleed screw. One try with the tiny 2mm hex and the aluminum head is stripped. Time for the Dremel or other destructive means. Here's a long term solution!⁠

This replacement bleed screw is made from GR5 titanium and features a larger, 3mm, hex head. Designed to fit all modern Shimano road hydraulic levers, I recommend to have a pair on hand before your next bleed. Better yet, replace these on your next build and never worry about it again.⁠

I designed and tested these screws but I do not make these in-house. Given the efficiencies of dedicated screw shops, these are outsourced. ⁠

Part of the reason Shimano uses a small hex driver is to discourage over-torquing the screw into the plastic lever body. I'm trusting buyers to follow the original Shimano spec (0.5-0.7Nm) on these to avoid any lever damage.⁠

We wanted to do a modern take on the classic to***co pouch and with the X-Pac fabric, waterproof zippers, and custom TTT machined G-Hook closure, they totally nail it!⁠⁠
For smokables storage, there's a superlight X-Pac pouch or you can use the brass storage jar for longer term storage. ⁠⁠
I have a limited number available in both yellow and blue (Link in Bio). Add on a pipe and lighter for a complete smoke-kit.

I’ve been sleeping a bit on IG but working on getting lots of loose ends polished up with TTT. I’m going to keep the t**e division alive but keep your eyes peeled for growth in the st**e space as well!

One theme I’m seeing across the board this summer is a celebration of the mid-ride stop. While non-stop hammers have their place, I’ve been working to slow down and enjoy the stoppage time among friends.

While I might take a “safety meeting” on the trail, I’ve found that bringing along a water filter always encourages a positive, inclusive, and relaxed break. 

Second image shows how I carry my filter setup. I actually thought a water filter setup for the bike would be the product that launches TTT but it turns out the Sawyer filter and CNOC bladder really can’t be beat. Pro-tip: The sawyer fits in a Bontrager pump bracket.

Making the contours for the “pipe stand” requires a significant amount of added CNC time but I wouldn’t have the design any other way. Getting this feature to “make sense” took a lot of iteration (pic 3 for some explorations) but I’m really happy with how the lines bring everything together.

The machining strategy is called “ball milling” as it uses a ball shaped cutter which can cut at a variety of angles around the tip. By spiraling around the final geometry, the cutter carves away the material bit by bit to get to the final shape. This approach brings me back to when I used to machine turbocharger compressors (on much nicer and bigger machines)!
