Homeowner material reuse on a Sunday!

This galvanized angle iron was once part of the electrical transmission system that brought power to southern Vermont.🪫

They have been crafted into braces that are providing structural support to an 1860’s slate roof in East Arlington, Vermont.

Sometimes materials show up that aren’t logistically feasible to reclaim. This stone found in the attic was likely the chimney cap of this 1840’s home.

How it got here is a mystery. It’s not fitting through the window, though!
It will be staying in the attic for now!!

What projects do you have on your list for this summer?🔨

Today I’m very appreciative for the years of training to be an electrician. At times the apprenticeship was so trying I wanted to quit. ⚠️

The reality is that everything I have done since has all stemmed from completing that apprenticeship. 🎉

Now I get to contribute those skills and knowledge towards installing new light fixtures to shine light on these beautiful reclaimed materials at Renew Salvage…pun intended:) 🔨

Come on down Friday from 10 AM-6 PMor weekdays from 4 PM-5:30 PM. You can find us at 234 Elliot Street, Brattleboro, Vermont.

We hope to see you soon! 💡⚡

Thanks,
