Rather than follow the rest of the fleet, we sought to lead it. Whether it is a superyacht or a racing yacht, Reichel/Pugh designs have produced unparalleled results for their owners and made a distinctive mark on the sailing industry. They include America3, winner of the 1992 America’s Cup, Visione, 45m and Nilaya 34m breakthrough Superyachts, Pyewacket 76’ setting a course record in the 1999 Transpac, Alfa Romeo 90’ with more than 70 first to finish victories, Alfa Romeo 100’s remarkable 2009 season combining a record breaking Transpac and a first to finish in the Sydney Hobart Race. Rambler 90’ with trifecta wins in the 2007 Middle Sea Race and 2008 Buenos Aires Rio Race, Wild Oats XI with seven line honor wins in the Sydney Hobart Race along with record setting trifecta wins in 2005 and 2012. Reichel/Pugh also designed the superlative Melges One Designs; the 24, 32, 17 and the Melges 20. Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design and Sangiorgio Marine are proud to announce a strategic partnership to develop a new generation of high-performance racing yachts. The debut of this collaboration, the Admiral 42, is a high-performance carbon fiber design engineered to excel in both elite inshore regattas and grueling offshore classics. Inspired by the RORC’s 2027 Admiral’s Cup Class 2 box rule, this collaboration merges Reichel/Pugh’s decades of naval architecture expertise with Sangiorgio Marine’s advanced composite engineering to deliver a versatile, event-inspired raceboat design capable of winning across the full spectrum of wind and sea conditions. Bruce Chafee’s 42' Reichel-Pugh design Rikki (USA) crossed the Caribbean 600 line in an elapsed time of 2 days 21 hours 51 minutes 30 seconds, and her corrected time under IRC sealed victory. Black Jack 100 takes Monohull Line Honours at the 2026 RORC 🏆

Originally the legendary Alfa Romeo II, refined and reborn, the Reichel/Pugh 100 Black Jack made a spectacular debut under its new owner Remon Vos. Skippered by Tristan Le Brun, the crew conquered the 600nm course in 1d 20h 31m 36s.

Coming hot off Line Honours victories in the Rolex Fastnet and Rolex Middle Sea Races, this win solidifies the offshore legacy of this iconic design. The 2026 edition distilled racing to its essentials—preparation, performance, and relentless pressure—and the 20-man Black Jack crew rose to the challenge, ensuring the boat's storied history continues to grow.

At 20, the internationally renowned 100-foot supermaxi BlackJack continues her winning ways - and those of Alfa Romeo and Esimit Europa II. (Reichel/Pugh design #146, Neville Crichton’s Alfa Romeo II was launched in 2005 and took second place on elapsed time in the 2005 Sydney Hobart to Wild Oats XI, R/P design #165 of the same generation. Wild Oats XI scored the trifecta in that S2H, setting a new course record and winning overall.) The icon from Monaco shows no signs of slowing down as this week Remon Vos’ BlackJack led the Maxis to take Monohull Line Honours in the centenary edition of the 2025 Rolex Fastnet Race (695nm)! Weeks prior BlackJack made history by setting a new 314nm Gotland Runt course record. A warm congratulations to the team!
