Losing to the Reds sucks. Plain and simple. We should be winning this series. We should be beating teams like Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, especially when every game matters this time of year.

We sweep Minnesota, build some momentum, then drop games we shouldā€™ve had. Thatā€™s baseball, I guess. Sometimes it just goes bad.

And yeah, Iā€™m going to say itā€¦ Casey Mize hasnā€™t done s**t for me this year outside of that one good start. Iā€™d much rather see what our BP can give us down the stretch. (lol)

But Iā€™m not giving up on my team.

Some people checked out months ago. Thatā€™s cool. Iā€™m still riding.

After yesterdayā€™s unlucky, disastrous game, I donā€™t even want to talk about it. The Padres answered the right way tonight: enough hits, dominant pitching, and a bounce-back win when we needed it.

Fifth time in Mexico City and I still canā€™t get enough of this city.

I was just here in April, came in 2023 for the Padres, 2019 for the Chargers, plus one trip just because.

Today we walked into the Biblioteca Vasconcelos and manā€¦ this place is incredible. Designed by Mexican architect Alberto Kalach and opened in 2006, itā€™s basically a massive library and botanical garden in one. Six levels, over 40,000 meters of shelving and around 600,000 books. Iā€™ve been eyeing Mexico City as a place to work abroad, maybe even live someday. And Iā€™d love to come back and do it with my daughter, Jocelyn.

CHILDā€™S PLAY šŸ§øšŸ”Ŗ

This is our team.

Players come in, players go. Especially in a young MLS league where players can come here, develop, flourish, make a name for themselves, and then move on to another league. Thatā€™s the reality. Weā€™re not the Premier League, and weā€™re not Liga MX. Yet.

For some players, MLS can even be that later chapter of their career. Thatā€™s just the way it is. You canā€™t change it.

And yes, Chucky Lozanoā€™s departure wasnā€™t exactly your standard goodbye. There was history, chemistry, patterns, and things that happened on both sides. Iā€™m not going to pretend it was all one-sided. But at the end of the day, itā€™s sports.

Heā€™s gone. Letā€™s move on.

Why would we want Chucky to score against our own home team just to prove a point? What does that accomplish? Weā€™re currently sitting in the #8 Wild Card playoff spot after losing five straight and barely getting a point during that stretch. Who wouldā€™ve thought weā€™d be here?

This is bigger than one player.

Whoever puts on this jersey becomes part of our team. Thatā€™s who we root for. This is our city. This is San Diego FC.

Letā€™s stop hovering over the past and enjoy whatā€™s in front of us.

San Diego FC: 6 wins, 0 losses, 1 draw against Galaxy and LAFC. And that one draw? Even down a man.

Tonight, San Diego found another goal, and LA thought they had the equalizer late. Nope. Called back. šŸ˜‚

And look, if you understand sports, donā€™t take this personal. Some of you get way too caught up and actually want Chucky Lozano to fail. Why? You should want that man scoring 75 goals in San Diego.

But tonight, San Diego wins again against Los Angeles.

The Homeboys avoid the sweep with a 2ā€“0 shutout over Pittsburgh.

After sweeping Minnesota, dropping two straight to the Pirates wouldā€™ve been a rough way to end the homestand. But today, the pitching showed up. Randy VĆ”squez and the bullpen kept the Pirates off the board, and when Pittsburgh threatened, Yuki Matsui came in with the bases loaded and struck out Brandon Lowe to shut the door. THAT is clutch. šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡µšŸ”„

Yesterdayā€™s 1ā€“0 loss? Couldā€™ve gone either way. A one-pitch game. We move on.

And the Pirates? Just got swept by the Dodgers before coming down to San Diego.

So we take the win, take the rest day tomorrow, and head to Tampa Bay.
