This month, members of our corporate team attended the WTS Sacramento Fashion Show, where Wood Rodgers was honored to be a Spotlight Sponsor. The evening featured networking, entertainment, and support for the transportation industry, with our very own Tim Chamberlain taking the stage as one of the event's featured models.

🎪 What a night!

Last month, our Sacramento and Roseville offices hosted clients and industry partners for a circus-themed celebration dedicated to the projects, partnerships, and friendships that have contributed to our success over the years.

Guests enjoyed live circus entertainment, carnival games, inflatables, fair favorites, and plenty of opportunities to connect with colleagues, clients, and friends. It was a wonderful evening spent celebrating the people who make our work meaningful.

This week, our Roseville office hosted employees who are 1-3 years into their careers for our annual Learning Curve training program.

Designed to help newer team members build connections, find mentors, and better understand the consulting industry, Learning Curve challenges participants to work together on a project that mirrors real-world client work. Throughout the experience, they learn how different disciplines collaborate, what goes into developing a successful solution, and the realities of guiding a project from idea to implementation.

More importantly, they gain confidence, strengthen relationships with their peers, and get a glimpse into what their future at Wood Rodgers can look like.

Learning Curve is one of many programs dedicated to supporting our employees throughout their careers, helping them grow both professionally and personally.

We enjoyed hosting students from the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) in our Sacramento office last week for an engaging office tour and career discussion.

Representatives from each of our departments shared insights into their work and the variety of career opportunities available within engineering, planning, surveying, and related fields. The students came prepared with thoughtful questions and were eager to learn more about the industry.

We brought home the ASCE Cup! 🏆

Over the course of the summer, our Reno team participated in the annual ASCE Truckee Meadows Branch YMF ASCE Cup, competing in a variety of events including trivia, field day, bocce ball, pool, bowling, puzzles, and go-kart racing.

The competition provided a great opportunity to connect with fellow professionals across the industry while strengthening our own team along the way. We are proud of everyone who participated and helped make this year's victory possible.

Summer may be winding down, but we are not quite ready to let it go!

This week, our Reno owners fired up the grill and served up smash burgers for the office. It was the perfect excuse to step outside, enjoy the warm weather, and spend time with coworkers over a great meal.

Moments like these remind us that a strong workplace is built on more than just great projects. It is also about the people, connections, and traditions that make work enjoyable.
