Meet the Rose Creek Fire Department.
The Rose Creek Fire Department has been fighting fires since 1949, it serves a city of about 400 people and surrounds its Rural community as well. Resources and facilities have greatly improved since 1949, Rose Creek Area Fire Department formed, Jack Hegge being the first fire chief. In 1975, we added a new Chevy pumper that was purchased from Clarey's Fire. In 2000, a new Chevy pick-up was purchased to replace a 1975 Ford pickup. in 2003, the fire department moved into a new fire station/city hall at 105 Maple St. SE. in 2007, a new Pierce pumper was purchased from Clarey's Fire to replace the 1975 Chevy Pumper. In 2010, the department purchased a Jaw of Life tool. In 2014, the department purchased grain bin rescue equipment. Our significant fires we have been too are -Adams Bowling Alley -Austin Downtown Fire -Beaver Trails Campground Rose Creek Fire Department currently has 22 current Volunteer Fire Fighters!
