For several days I have. Been trying to post this.
The local 4 X 4 pull we were putting together for May 12, 2018 has been cancelled. Hopefully we will reschedule later in the year.

O.k. pulling fans. As you have read in previous posts, our selected date was April 21 with Roscoe's Spring Fling, then Spring Fling was moved to May 12 and scheduling conflicts came up, Felix and I talked and decided to do a local 4 X 4 pull, then we learned several of the people that were going to participate we're going to be out of town.
So. This event is currently on hold. Hopefully later in the year we can schedule a date that works for everyone.

When the Roscoe Spring Fling date was moved from April 21, 2018 to May 12, 2018 we learned that HWH had a show in Godly (they had a show booked in Lindsay on the April 21 date).
We did more checking and when we checked the West Texas Lawn and Garden Pulling Sled, we learned they were booked in Seminole, Texas the weekend of May 12 along with Mac Wood's sled with a slate of antique tractors to be pulled and a car show.
When I gave this news to Felix we began to put together alternate plans.
Right now we are contemplating doing a stock 4 X 4 truck pull, divided into a gas class and a diesel class.
We will meet this next week to talk final rules.
Right now we are thinking "run what you bring". No hanging weights, pickup beds should be emptied, tail gates removed. No inverted drop hitches for added hitch heigth, DOT tires, pump gas or diesel only, drive line loops required, (drive line loops and u-joints enclosed preferred). No shifting. Hook fee, 50% to be paid out to winner (or top three finishers) the other 50% goes to the promoter. 2 pit passes with payment of each entry. Competitors and crew must be sober, coherent and cooperative. Drivers must obey flagman commands.
Any welding truck wanting to pull but not remove their welders will be allowed to run an exhibition pull with payment of the hook fee but will not be competing for cash prizes.
Entries limited to the first 25 in each class.

I've been talking with Felix about doing a truck and tractor pull in Roscoe. Originally he was looking at April 21, 2018 but a few days go he told me the date would be May 12, 2018 in conjunction with Spring Fling.
Plans currently are to pull antiques and a few hot rod tractors. Some of these antiques tractors have had modificationsWe are looking into pulling local stock 4 X 4 trucks, divided into a gas class and a diesel class. Certain safety equipment will be required and entrees may be limited.
If scheduling permits we may pull a few "current" farm tractors.
We will be pulling the Texas Hold 'em Sled.
We are also looking at bringing in a garden tractor sled as well.

2010 West Texas Fair Truck and Tractor Pull was standing room only! Excellent! Thanks to all who attended and supported the pull. The Expo GM and board have already booked two days for 2011!

Truck and Tractor Pull at the West Texas Fair September 11th Abilene, Texas. TTTPA sanction, Saturday night show (single session). 7 Sanctioned classes, no local 4 X 4. Come out and support this event as fair officials gage its impact and future. Admission FREE with fair admission. What a bargain.

This won't mean a lot to most of you, for the few that understand it might be of interest. I had a long conversation with Steve Zimmer of NASOA and WPI discussiing ground effects. Specifically grousers. I am inrigues and tempted.
