Brass, stainless, or plastic: which solenoid valve do you need? 🤔

🔩 Brass → hot water, air, gas, diesel fuel & weak acids. Not for highly corrosive fluids, salt air, or marine environments.
⚙️ Stainless steel → food & beverage, chemicals, drinking water.
🧪 Plastic → irrigation, water filtration, drinking water & hydroponics. Lower pressure & temperature ratings than brass or stainless.
🔧 Check the seal: brass valves use FKM (Viton®) seals; plastic valves use an EPDM diaphragm.

Need a refresher on selecting the right solenoid valve for your system? ⚙️

Picking the wrong thread type, seal material, or duty cycle can quickly lead to leaks, premature coil burnout, or system downtime. Whether you're working on irrigation, HVAC, compressed air, or industrial fluid lines, getting the specs right the first time matters.

We published a complete Quick-Reference Solenoid Valve Guide covering:
🔹 Valve Parts Breakdown: Coils, armatures, diaphragms, and bodies
🔹 Duty Cycles Explained: When you actually need a 100% continuous duty rating
🔹 Thread Identification: Navigating NPT vs. BSPT threads
🔹 Pressure & Voltage Ratings: Matching power to your application

Every technician and DIYer knows the feeling:

The solenoid valve that worked perfectly yesterday suddenly fails right after startup today. 🛠️⚡

Before assuming the valve is dead, remember: solenoid failures are rarely random. In most cases, it’s a system-level issue rather than a faulty valve:

⚡ No voltage at the coil (check relay, fuse, or control signal)

🧹 Debris/contamination blocking internal ports or the diaphragm

📉 Incorrect pressure differential (min/max specs not met)

🔌 Wiring issues that were "already checked"

Pro Tip: Save hours of troubleshooting and avoid buying unnecessary replacement parts by double-checking the basics first.

⚠️ Burnt coil slowing you down?

>If your solenoid valve coils keep failing, the problem usually isn’t the coil itself—it’s system-related. The #1 culprit? Continuous Duty Overload.
> Running a non-rated coil continuously causes extreme heat buildup, leading to immediate insulation failure and burnout.

✅ The Quick Fix: Always verify your valve's duty cycle specs, ensure adequate ventilation, or introduce a cycle timer to give the components a rest.

Burned-out coils? Water hammer? Constant valve replacements? 🚫

It may be time to upgrade to a Motorized (Electric) Ball Valve.

Our Stainless Steel Motorized Ball Valves are built for reliable shutoff in irrigation, water systems, industrial automation, and OEM applications.

Why customers are making the switch:

⚡ Low power operation helps reduce coil burnout
🌊 Slow-close actuation helps reduce water hammer
🔄 Full-port design for minimal flow restriction
🔋 Auto-return models close automatically during power loss
💧 304 stainless steel construction for potable water applications
🌧️ IP67 / NEMA 4 rated for indoor or outdoor installs
🛠️ Built for up to 70,000 cycles

Ideal for:
✔ Irrigation systems
✔ Emergency shutoff systems
✔ Water treatment
✔ Industrial automation
✔ OEM equipment
✔ Air, water, and compatible fluid applications

Reliable. Low maintenance. Built to last. 🔧

Choosing the right solenoid valve type matters more than you think.

If a valve isn’t performing as expected, the issue may not be the valve itself—it could be the type selected.

Here’s the key difference:
👉 Direct-acting valves operate without system pressure
👉 Pilot-operated valves require pressure and are better suited for higher flow systems

Selecting the correct type helps ensure proper operation and performance.
