Tired of sand plugging up your plumbing, fixtures, and appliances?

This customer had been dealing with excessive sand coming from their well, so we started by pulling the pump to make sure we addressed the root cause—not just the symptoms.

While the pump was out, we installed new torque arrestors to ensure the drop pipe wasn’t rubbing against the casing and contributing to the problem. Once we confirmed the poly pipe wasn’t the culprit, we installed a high-capacity sediment filter to capture the remaining sand before it reaches the home’s plumbing.

A sediment filter won’t stop a well from producing sand, but it does protect pressure tanks, water heaters, fixtures, irrigation systems, and household appliances from costly damage while giving the homeowner much cleaner water.

Every well is different, and the right solution depends on why the sand is being produced. That’s why we focus on diagnosing the problem first instead of just throwing parts at it.

If you’re noticing sand in your water, low water pressure, or sediment plugging faucets and sprinkler heads, give B3 Pump a call. We service homeowners throughout Southern Oregon with well pump repairs, water treatment, and complete well system diagnostics.

⚠️ Why We Don’t Mix Dissimilar Metals ⚠️

This is a perfect example of what can happen when dissimilar metals are connected in a water system.

Over time, certain metals react with each other in the presence of water, creating a process called galvanic corrosion. One metal becomes the sacrificial metal and slowly deteriorates, leading to:

🔸 Restricted water flow
🔸 Excessive rust buildup
🔸 Reduced system performance
🔸 Premature fitting failure
🔸 Costly repairs

The fittings in this photo became heavily corroded and nearly plugged shut from years of electrochemical reaction and mineral buildup.

At B3 Pump, we use stainless steel fittings whenever possible because they offer:

✅ Superior corrosion resistance
✅ Longer service life
✅ Better compatibility with other plumbing materials
✅ Improved water flow over time
✅ Reduced maintenance and repair costs

When you’re pulling a well pump or upgrading a water system, the cheapest fitting is rarely the least expensive in the long run.

Investing in quality materials today helps prevent major problems tomorrow.

☀️ New Solar Well Pump Installation Complete! ☀️

We recently installed a Grundfos SQFlex solar-powered well pump system to provide reliable water without relying on utility power. This setup is a great solution for remote properties, livestock water systems, off-grid homes, and locations where running power to the well would be expensive.

This installation features:
✔️ Grundfos SQFlex solar submersible pump
✔️ Solar-powered operation with generator/AC backup capability
✔️ Weather-protected well enclosure
✔️ Efficient, low-maintenance design built for long-term reliability

The SQFlex line is one of our favorite solar pumping systems because it can operate directly from solar panels while automatically adjusting to available sunlight throughout the day. When paired with adequate storage, these systems provide dependable water year-round with minimal operating costs.

If you’re looking for an off-grid water system, solar well pump installation, or need help designing a water system for your property, give us a call.

Clean water upgrade 💧⚡️

Just wrapped up installing a Triple O ozone injection system on this holding tank setup — paired with an internal recirculation system running through a pleated filter.

This setup doesn’t just treat the water once… it continuously works it.

The ozone is injected into the tank to oxidize iron, eliminate sulfur odors, and control bacteria. Then the system circulates that water through a pleated filter inside the tank, helping physically remove the oxidized contaminants and sediment.

That combo = cleaner water before it ever hits the house.

This is a huge upgrade for holding tank systems where water sits and can degrade over time.

✔️ Oxidizes and removes iron
✔️ Eliminates sulfur smell
✔️ Helps control bacteria
✔️ Filters out sediment and debris
✔️ Continuous recirculation for better water quality

Another dialed system built to last.

Before ➡️ After – Pump Room Rebuild

This one needed some attention.

The original setup had limited access, older plumbing, and a pressure tank that was no longer doing its job. Not much room to service anything without cutting lines or fighting the layout.

We went through and:
• Replumbed the entire pump room for clean layout and easy serviceability
• Installed a new pressure tank
• Added proper isolation points so future work can be done without tearing everything apart
• Cleaned up the system to make it more reliable and easier to maintain

Now everything is laid out the way it should be—simple, accessible, and built to last.

If you’ve got a pump room that’s cramped, outdated, or hard to work on, it’s worth fixing it the right way once.

A few months ago we got the call no one wants to make — a barn fire in Grants Pass took out the entire well system.

At the time, the priority was simple: get water back on as fast as possible.

We built a temporary setup right on site to restore water and keep the property running. Not pretty, but it got the job done and bought time while everything was being rebuilt.

Fast forward to today — we came back out to finish it the right way.

All components are now relocated and installed inside the new pump room, cleaned up, protected, and set up for long-term reliability.

From emergency response to full system rebuild — this is what we do.

If you’re in Grants Pass or surrounding areas and dealing with a no water situation, fire damage, or need a well system rebuilt:

❄️Back up and running just in time. 🍇

Today we pulled a 30HP submersible turbine set in a standpipe in a pond that had completely seized up. Full pull, tore it down, worked it free, and got everything reassembled and reinstalled.

This pump feeds a vineyard frost protection system, and with temperatures dropping tonight, timing mattered. When we arrived, the vineyard owner was already trying to decide what part of his crop he was willing to lose. Thankfully, we were able to get the system back online and flowing, putting his mind at ease before the cold hit.

Pond setups like this come with their own challenges—long pulls, heavy steel, and tight working conditions—but we got it handled same day and back in service when it counted.

No water and low pressure issues in Grants Pass turned into a full system fix 💧

Customer had been dealing with weak pressure for a long time, and finally lost water completely. After diagnosing the system, we found a failed pressure switch and a heavily plugged filter restricting flow.

Replaced the pressure switch, swapped out the clogged filter, and got the system back up and running like it should — solid pressure and reliable water again.

If your water pressure has been slowly dropping, don’t ignore it — small issues like filters and switches can turn into a full no water emergency.
