NinjaWOD is the page for the NinjaWOD website. It stands for ninja workout of the day. NinjaWOD was created by Matt Atwell, the International Ninja, as a resource to help people with ninja warrior training. Whether you have little to no equipment, standard gym equipment, or a ninja warrior course or gym, you can find workouts, ideas, tips, and demos to maximize your training and fun.

For those who have wondered what's been going on in my ninja training, the answer is not much. After training so hard for a year after competing in season 9 and getting myself to an incredibly high level of performance, I submitted this video for season 10. A producer told me it was great, but ultimately I didn't get the call. That took the wind out of my sails. TBH, I haven't even watched season 10 😕 and didn't submit a video for season 11.

Thankfully, after moving to Oregon, I have been able to focus on things that are more important. Maybe my passion will return at some point. I don't have the time to train like I used to, and I hate to do things halfway, so I wasn't interested in competing this year because I knew I wouldn't be at the level I was before.

I had a couple of short, intense workouts in a house this week that I decided needed to be on the NinjaWOD site! Check out these No Gym WODs you can do anywhere.

5 Rounds: 1 min on with 15 sec rest between each exercise
Ledge pull-ups
Pistol squats
Fingertip push-ups
Weighted leg raises

5 Rounds: 1 min on with 15 sec rest between each exercise
Ledge dead hangs
Jump lunges
Handstand push-ups
Bicycle crunches

Burnout each exercise with 1 minute rest between:
Salmon ladder
One leg quad steps (burnout with each leg)

Plank with feet on wall
Devil steps

I will do this today but with different obstacles and keep burning out until I can't anymore.

If you have looked at the website this weekend, I apologize for there not being new workouts. Things got crazy busy with an Ultimate Backyard Warrior competition and preparing for the Haiti trip with World Orphans. I will not be posting WODs through 11/21/17 because of the Haiti trip. Use these days to find workouts you haven't done yet, redo workouts you've already done and check for improvement, or use the workouts to spark new ideas for yourself. Have a great week!

Today marks 3 months of workouts on the NinjaWOD website! I hope they have sparked ideas and introduced fun, challenging, and creative ways to help your training. Our Gym WOD today features the "Kettlebell Figure 8". I'll be introducing a couple of fun core exercises to do with a partner soon.
