Same type of pump. Same process. Completely different performance.

In this polymer dosing application, a peristaltic pump was creating pressure spikes from 0–70 PSI, making flow erratic and difficult to control.

As the video shows:

➡️ Without pulsation control: the pressure gauge is bouncing and flow is unstable
➡️ With a pulsation dampener: pressure stabilizes and flow becomes smooth and consistent

By adding a pulsation dampener that is properly charged, the spikes are eliminated, making accurate dosing possible.

Sometimes the difference between unstable and reliable really is this simple.

Four years of skill, pride, and seriously clean welds.

Jose recently celebrated his 4th anniversary with BLACOH, and these customized 25-gallon SurgeShield units are a pretty great example of why we’re lucky to have him on the team.

Built for a mining application moving gold ore slurry with peristaltic pumps, these units required custom mounting brackets and an offset air control location to accommodate a tight-fitting installation.

Jose welded these units, and the finish speaks for itself. They're so clean you can barely see the swirls.

Pulsation from an AODD pump was disrupting spray consistency, but limited space ruled out a traditional vertical dampener installation. The solution? Installing a pulsation dampener upside down to fit the footprint while still eliminating pulsation.

The result was smooth, laminar flow at the spray nozzles -- improving coating quality, reducing rework, and saving time and material.

Sometimes reliability comes from thinking differently about the install.

If you've ever thought to yourself “it works, but…” this is what we mean.

Pressure instability does not always announce itself with a failure. More often it shows up as little things people start to accept as “normal”:

- Inconsistent dosing or flow
- Control loops that hunt
- Gauges that flutter
- Vibration you can feel in the line
- A system that is just finicky

This perspective comes up a lot in the work we do at Blacoh.
