Where do the lead times live in your shop?

Most manufacturers think lead times live in the machine.

They don’t.

Lead times live in:

* poor communication
* waiting on answers
* disorganized tooling
* incomplete setups
* bad scheduling
* unclear priorities
* too many interruptions
* and the space between operations

The machine usually isn’t the problem.
The system is.

The shops winning right now aren’t always the ones with the newest equipment…

They’re the ones building a system.

Are you running shrink fit, hydraulic, or side-lock?

The tool holder doesn’t get enough attention.
Everyone talks about:
