Sad news was shared with us today, as we lost a great person that meant a lot to our class.... There once was a teacher that was a lot of fun. She greeted us with smiles, graded our papers, and corrected our grammar along the way. All the while disguising her love for the written word as she stood in front of the class writing our next assignment on the blackboard. A teacher of wisdom beyond the classroom, as she touched many lives along the way and created life long friendships with her students well past graduation day. Out about town a friendly hello, and she remembered who you were even though the last time you sat in her classroom was many, many, years ago. It was always delightful to see and chat with her when she made a special guest appearances at one of our Pt Boro Class of 81 reunions casting that friendly smile, to each and everyone of us. Your memory will live on in all of us, as your lessons will too, we thank you Jane, Mrs. Millar, Jane Millar, for all that you've taught us and meant to us all through the years, you'll truly be missed. May God Bless you with open arms as we all know he granted you those angel's wings years ago, rest in peace our dear teacher and friend.đŸ˜„đŸ™

Good stuff at Mort’s Windward Tavern can vouch that the schnitzel , German meatballs, chicken meatball spaetzle soup, salmon special, can’t forget desert cherry streusel bread pudding, all were very good. If you’re local check out this menu before it’s gone!

Should we have a 45th in 2026?

Folks FYI , our class page has been targeted by a few different folks claiming to be class members and claiming that they are selling alumni gear, shirts etc. becareful as it’s all a scam, if you don’t know them , haven’t heard of them, don’t buy or send money to them. Check the dates to the posts they are replying and posting on as they seem to have been targeting old posts.

FYI Classmates beware of a Laura Dweston hawking alumni shirts as it is a scam!!

Legend Lost

One last huddle, no time outs left, countless lives touched, endless lessons taught “his way, his words”, from history to track to his forte on the green grass of the gridiron, blood, sweat, tears, brotherhood, love him, hate him, he pushed you to do your best. Double sessions, practices in the heat, into the dark, wind sprints and whistles, 2 man and 5 man sleds, the gauntlet, victories and losses, championships and records, after his family, his students, players, love for the game, always came first, he strived to get the best out of everyone he touched, from the leather helmets he wore as a player, to modern equipment he stayed steadfast for his love of the game as he continued to foster young athletes even after his time at Pt. Boro as he helped other schools get their football programs up to speed. Perhaps my favorite quote (all though not at the time) of his as he transitioned us seniors in a season that slipped away from us will stand the test of time, “It’s better to have been a Haz-Bin, than a never was”. Football coaches, track coaches, history teaches, don’t always stick around for 92 years on this earth but this one did as he touched many, many, lives in our school and others while kicking his memory through the up rights and over the goal line to heaven. God Bless you Coach, thank you for the life lessons, and as you rest in peace know we look forward to huddling up with you once again

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news we just recently received. Our beloved Italian classmate "Luigi Amadio", a foreign exchange student from Italy left us on June 24, 2023 for that grand soccer field in heaven. Luigi was friendly beyond compare, little shy at times, and played the I don't speak english game to his advantage, always coaxing a smile out of you as he smiled back. Perhaps, he was most at home and accomplished on the soccer field as a Pt. Boro Soccer Team Member. Luigi kept in touch with some of us over the years, he even followed our class page on Facebook and had voiced his wishes to maybe make it one day to one of our reunions.

"Possiamo alzare un bicchiere di grappa in alto per celebrare la vita di un buon amico, il tempo che abbiamo trascorso con lui e i ricordi creati. Dio benedica Luigi, ci mancherai e ti ricorderemo sempre!"

Translation: May we raise a glass of grappa high in celebration of a good friends life, the time we spent with him and the memories made. God Bless Luigi we will miss and shall always remember you!
