Meet the Tweed: Seth Beckley, Senior Development Engineer 👋
For the past 15 years, Seth Beckley has been helping drive innovation at Greene Tweed. Since joining the company through our Rotational Engineer Program, he has built a career centered on advancing materials technology and manufacturing excellence.
Today, as a Senior Development Engineer in our Structural and Engineered Components (SEC) group, Seth plays an essential role in advancing the future of Xycomp® DLF thermoplastic composites, including expanding its application into high-performance motorsports through our partnership with McLaren. With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware and an M.S.E. in Interdisciplinary Engineering, with a concentration in Materials, from Purdue University, Seth collaborates cross-functionally to develop next-generation components and manufacturing processes and push the boundaries of what’s possible with thermoplastic composite technology.
Among Seth's many contributions, two projects have stood out to him during his time at Greene Tweed. First was the development of an automated molding cell for Xycomp DLF production, significantly increasing manufacturing efficiency and capacity while reducing repetitive manual tasks. And second was pioneering a rapid prototyping process for Xycomp DLF that reduces first-prototype lead times by up to 50% and lowers tooling costs. This breakthrough has accelerated customer adoption across several high-growth markets and earned the team a prestigious GT Innovation Award.
Outside of work, Seth enjoys spending time with his family, restoring classic cars and historic homes, and serving in his church community.
Thank you, Seth, for 15 years at Greene Tweed and we look forward to what's ahead!
