I've been wanting a 2x72" belt grinder ever since I started all this but they were always waaayyyy out of my price range and even making one. A decent running one with VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) + a motor with enough horse power to run it would almost be just as much. But last night I made a decision the best decision I have ever made yet I bought this guy on sale saving me well over $400! I can't wait to go pick it up!

I wasn't expecting my forge till Monday. But it arrived around 9:30 last night. I just got done spraying the ceramic fiber insulation with rigidizer wait till that dries all the way then mix up some refractory cement brush that on the insulation and wait for that to dry. Then take it down to my shop put her all together and fire her up! Can't wait to see how she runs!

Got a bunch of steel coming too!

My steel order came in yesterday! Time to lite up the forge and strike the anvil!

What do you think about this handle?
I made it myself!
It's epoxy with some pigment colors and I have a silicone mold that makes 2 regular knife handle scales like the ones I used to buy. But now that I'm learning the process of mixing epoxy colors this would actually save me soo much money.

Also I can say my knives are 100% handmade!

Here's the 556 layer knife. Currently in the middle of hand sanding before I give it an acid bath. Might go over it one more time from 120 grit up to 600 then polish and etch it!

Working on a 500+ layer knife. It's kind of hard to tell how big it is but this maybe the largest billet I've tried to forge weld
