Preach ! I cannot agree more with you that strength training plays a crucial part of our health. Just sad many people still think that lifting heavy weights will instantly make you look like Mr/Ms Olympia. Not knowing it takes a lot of food and years of training to make those gains.
I have stressed so many times after age 30 our starts to lose muscle unless you are on a strength training program. Best way to combat muscle loss is to lift weights. As we age each year, the more muscle we will lose if you are not on a weight training program with a proper diet of protein, carbs n fats.
Nugget to take with you... Don't be afraid of the weight room. Strong muscles = strong bones. Muscles can save your life...

Strength Training: Yes or No
The truth: muscle is not optional after 40. It’s how your body regulates blood sugar, protects your metabolism, and determines how well you age. Cardio matters. Walking matters. But resistance training is the lever most people are still underusing.
The skinny-fat concept is real, you can be at a “healthy” weight and still have the metabolic profile of someone at high risk. Muscle mass predicts long-term health better than body weight alone.
And no, lifting will not make women bulky. Bulk requires surplus calories and deliberate effort over a long time. What most women actually get is leaner, stronger, and far more metabolically resilient.
Start somewhere. Add resistance. Stay consistent.
