Though I was classified as a graduate intern, leadership placed me in charge an offshore engineering team. My team consisted of 2 data engineers, 1 machine learning engineer, and myself operating as the lead data scientist.
Leading an offshore engineering team:
The late nights when I stayed up until 2 AM so that I could be within IST (Indian Standard Time) working hours allowed me to pair program with our MLE. Those 6 hour long coding sessions, parsing through LangChain and other machine learning frameworks, iterating through 7 API endpoints, and quantizing our model for query optimization allowed us to ship a GenAI Demo. These moments served as an exercise in ex*****on and grit. Additionally, I even learned some Hindi: “Chalo ise karte hain” (Let’s do it)!
Our GenAI model gives us precise insights on how we allocate our supply chain minor material equipment budget spend of $4.3 billion.
