🔷 From burnout to finished part 🔷

➡️ This piece started as a massive 34” diameter x 14” thick burnout. From there, our team utilized our large CNC mill to complete all of the precision milling and drilling required to bring it to its finished form.

➡️ Sometimes, we don’t get to see the finished product. We simply play one part in the many processes that bring it to completion.

➡️ These barrels arrive at R&J after the welding process. Our role is to perform the precision lathe work on the ends before they move on to the next stage.

🔷 It may seem like a small part of the overall process, but every step matters. No matter how big or small the job, we take pride in our work and make sure we deliver the precision and quality our customers expect. 🔷

🔷 The first operation on these bronze bearings is precision turning on one of our CNC lathes. This operation establishes the critical OD dimensions, face locations, and other turned features required for subsequent machining operations.

📏 Using CNC turning allows us to maintain consistent dimensional accuracy and repeatability across the components while efficiently removing material and preparing the bearings for the next stage of production.
