We are now a registered Indiana State vendor, and we have started the process to become an approved federal vendor.

In the last few weeks we mailed packages to almost 90 police departments across Indiana and sent emails to nearly every other department in the state we could reach. If your agency has not heard from us yet, we still want to talk.

We are always looking for ways to meet new departments and demo the Valkyrie Link in person. It mounts to the factory LATCH anchors and stays in the car. It works in all uncaged vehicles and in caged vehicles with an unmodified back seat. Training is included.

If you work for a department, or you know someone who wants officers safer during transport, send this to them.

I am excited to announce that I have scheduled two more demonstrations with agencies outside of Indianapolis!

I look forward to meeting with these departments and being provided the opportunity to make their transports safer.

This is me showing the Valkyrie Link during a demonstration.

A chief took the photos while I sat in the system so he could see how it works on a person, not just on an empty seat.

Photo 1: me in the car with the Beserker strap (over the torso strap), hands behind, and seat belt on.

Photo 2: the central hub that stays mounted in the vehicle. Straps clip in here. The handcuff strap adjusts from this point and keeps the hands above the waist line.

The unit stays in the car after the transport. Front-seat and rear-seat. Every kit includes the handcuff strap, Beserker strap, and ankle hobble. Training comes with purchase of the system.

First paid order: five front-seat units to a local small-town department, and more orders are coming.

If you want to see it work in your car or learn more about what Heimdall Equipment can do for you, contact us.

Heimdall Equipment is looking for local Indiana help on camera.

We need short advertisement and training videos for the Valkyrie Link. Think install, walkthrough, and clean product footage. Paid work. We have ideas in mind and we are happy to hear yours.

We are a small company at the start of our own growth. We would rather put that budget behind someone who is also building their craft — a film student, a new creator, or a local shooter still stacking a reel — than hire a shop that does not need the work.

If that sounds like you, send us a Facebook message. Include a link to something you have already shot and a short note on availability.

You can also email

[email protected].

Let’s grow the work on both sides of the camera.

Heimdall Equipment just marked two firsts for the Valkyrie Link.

The front-seat model is now on the road, and we closed our first sale: five front-seat units to a local small-town department.

That did not happen overnight. It took field testing, honest feedback, and people willing to try something new in a working car. We are grateful for every officer and administrator who gave us that chance.

Next up is more of the same. Train it right. Build it right. Keep listening. Thank you for being part of the start.

Heimdall Equipment Update – Listening & Improving

We’ve been receiving valuable feedback from the officers and departments currently field-testing the Valkyrie Link, and we’re already acting on it.

One clear takeaway is the importance of consistent technique for the best results. Based on this input, we’re reinforcing a recommended hand positioning method that works most effectively with the system when it’s fully tensioned. We’re also rolling out an official Heimdall Equipment Certified Training for all officers in the field test program. Every participant will receive a certificate of completion and clear documentation of the training.

This is exactly why we run real-world field tests — so we can refine the product and the guidance that goes with it while it’s still in the hands of the people who will actually use it.
Thank you to the administrators and officers who are putting three years of work to the test and helping us make the Valkyrie Link stronger. We’re listening, we’re adjusting, and we’re committed to supporting the people on the front lines.

More updates to come as we keep moving forward.

Excited to share some great news!
I’ve officially delivered 4 Valkyrie Links to the second department in the county. Their field test begins tomorrow.

Ten officers will be putting the Valkyrie Link to work on arrests where it’s needed — testing for any possible flaws and, we hope, capturing plenty of success stories along the way.

I’m looking forward to putting together an installation video soon and a proper demonstration of the Valkyrie Link in real use.
More updates to come.

Excited to share a big milestone today.
This morning I delivered the first 6 Valkyrie Link kits to our initial participating police department for the official field test.
I’m also hoping to hear by the end of this week that the second department has formally accepted their 4 kits so we can get both agencies running side-by-side.
Once the field test is complete and the results come back positive, we’ll be ready to roll Valkyrie Link out to departments nationwide — complete with a ready-to-adopt policy, full operational manual, and manufacturer’s warranty.
Proud of the progress and looking forward to the feedback from the officers who will put these kits through real-world use.
More updates soon.

Excited to share that we’re now talking with a second police department about joining the August field test for the Valkyrie Link. That means four more systems going out free of charge so we can get real feedback from more officers.

During a demonstration today someone asked why the central hub has open holes for the straps instead of slots that lock the straps permanently into the hub. Simple reason: modularity. If a strap ever wears out or gets damaged, you replace that one piece instead of the entire system.

I hate forced obsolescence.

My focus is the customer, not my wallet.
Still working to make this the best possible tool for my brothers and sisters in blue.

Stay safe out there.🛡

Why I built the Valkyrie Link — because the backseat is more dangerous than most know. In this personal piece, Officer Dawson Schmidt walks through real transport risks, hard-earned lessons from veterans, and the data that convinced him to design a safer solution for officers and detainees.
