I am at last starting to do an inventory of my parts. Opening up the door of the 10x20 storage unit, I'm astounded at the amount of... stuff... I have. This will take a while.

And in all of it, I don't seem to have a petcock rebuild kit that my SR500 desperately needs. hah.

It seems that I won't be reopening ThumperStuff. I've moved to Madison Wisconsin. I now have the best job - helping take care of my grandson three days a week.

If anyone in the area is interested in around $60,000 wholesale of motorcycle parts, and maybe an SR500 project or two... or three... let me know. Otherwise, I will probably gradually put them on Ebay. Probably the best way to contact me it through [email protected]. I still look at that occasionally.

Thumper Stuff is now on hiatus. It may reopen in the fall.
It has been fun, and I have met a lot of wonderful people.
The phone number and email address will still work, but who knows when or if I will answer.

For now, so long, and thanks for all the fish.

End of an Era... Well at least my era.

My life with Thumper Stuff is coming to an end. June 11th I will be shutting the doors and moving on.

If there is someone out there who would like to take on Thumper Stuff, Give me a call!
I figure I'll sell the business for $45,000, as it has around $63,000 wholesale of parts. It would be great for someone who is already repairing bikes.
To run the business, you need an actual storefront. The wholesalers will not sell to a person trying to run it out of their garage. I could deliver anywhere between Seattle and Madison WI, as that is where I am headed. If the parts are still with me when I get there, I will sell them off on Ebay, I guess. As of today (May 11) I am done restocking parts that sell or I am out of.

It has been a fun 22 years. Now for new adventures. Some of those adventures will still involve my SR and XT500.

End of an era:

Yamaha Japan has unveiled the 2021 Yamaha SR400 Final Edition. This will be the final iteration of this lovable retro machine.

I happen to have a Whole Bunch of NOS Yamaha parts, and some Honda, Suzuki, and a bit of Kawasaki stuff that might interest someone. Most of this is from about 1968 to 1981. I'd let it all go for $22 per piston, and the rest is free. I have 677 pistons, if I counted right.

That isn't supposed to look like that!
This is what can happen when the Kick Start Stopper breaks.
Best to install a new one every 20,000 miles or so. Min broke at 45,000, but it can happen much earlier.

Clean it up good, a bit of JB Weld, and all is good again.

I don't know about this "socially distancing". I've been socially distant for decades!

Actually, for now I am coming in to the shop, as there is nobody else here, and if someone came to the shop, I would meet with them, outside.

I am expecting to take my phone home with me, so there may be days I work from there. I don't know how availability of parts from wholesalers will go.
