A lot of people ask: What is product design? This video will help answer that question by using our 3d Printer design, The Helix, as an example. When we needed a 3D printer, we couldn't find one that fit our needs. That is when we began the process of "Challenging Normal" to design a better one. Product design encompasses anything from 3d printers to a toothbrush. Anything that people use in their daily life is in need of innovation. When product design is needed, look to Acuity Design for innovation.

Last summer some students from the University of Montana took on a project for the MontanaPBS to help raise awareness about Montana made products. With that said, here is a clip of that episode that aired last October. At that time we were building what turned out to be the last couple printers James and I will likely build.

It is hard not to reminisce at the start of a new year. I have been pondering where we have been over the past few years, and concluded that we have really done some amazing things. James and I started Acuity over 4 years ago and endured some serious trials and tribulations throughout the process. This video was filmed last summer but remained unreleased as we didn't feel it was worthy of public viewing. Now, in the wake of 2015, nostalgia has gotten the best of me and I feel this is a great nod the 2 brave souls who star in this. It is also a great reminder of future greatness that lies within us, and that our best has yet to come. We will continue to Challenge Normal in our lives no matter what business, place, or adventure besets us. Thank you to everyone who has supported us thus far and we look forward to 2016.

We are in the process of building a custom Mountain bike frame for a 29er "Plus". The "plus" is a challenge to package a 3" wide tire with a standard crankset. Our solution: a Billet steel chainstay yoke bracket, CNC machined. Here is the design. Machining parts tomorrow, stay tuned!
