Just after 5:00 p.m. on the evening of June 9, responded to a vehicle crash on I-95 South near the I-395 split in Springfield.

Units were dispatched for reports of a sedan that struck the median barrier. First-arriving crews found multiple vehicles involved and one civilian trapped inside a vehicle.

Firefighters quickly stabilized the vehicles and extricated the trapped civilian. The civilian was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital. A second civilian was evaluated.

Virginia State Police are investigating the crash.

What an incredible time at the Maryland Metro Fire Chiefs Association event!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by the Chesapeake Fire & Rescue Equipment booth to check out the latest equipment, talk rescue solutions, and spend time with our team. Events like this remind us how strong the fire and rescue community truly is.

We were proud to showcase industry-leading tools and technology alongside the professionals who use them every day to protect their communities. The conversations, connections, and support throughout the event were outstanding, and we truly appreciate every department, chief, firefighter, and first responder who took the time to visit us.

Special thanks to the Maryland Metro Fire Chiefs Association for hosting such a great event and bringing together so many dedicated leaders in the fire service.
