Do you have an electric heat pump?
If so, you will want to turn on your emergency heat to activate your heat strips to warm your house properly. The heat pump will not sufficiently heat your home when the outdoor temperatures are below 30.

It’s here that nice cool weather has made a sneak peak this week. It’s time to get your fall furnace maintenance. The center for disease control advises homeowners to have their furnances checked once a year especially if it’s gas system. We are in the middle of summer and although that Texas heat isn's as bad the HUMIDITY is a killer. Your drain lines may dripping which isn't surprising with the humidity.

A quick and easy do it yourself tip is a cup of bleach in the drain line. This won't clear it after it's clogged but it can help prevent it from getting clogged. This should be done at least twice a year. First right after you turn the A/C on and again the 1st or 2nd week of July. Below is a picture of how to add it depending on where your system is located.

If you don't have a clean out (which is where you pour the bleach) then call DFI Heating & Air and we can install one for you. And if your drain does get clogged give us a call and we will get it cleared for you.

Indoor Air Quality Alert

To all our DFI customers and their families with this coronavirus pandemic canceling sporting events theatrical shows and even some church services, that will be forcing a lot us to be spending more time at home. Since coronavirus (Covid-19) is an air born virus let’s be mindful of the indoor air quality in own homes, be sure to keep your filters changed, and a couple of tips would be to run the indoor blower continuously to help keep the air moving and filtering more often, those of you that have UV lights and keep your blowers on, already know the benefit of constant air movement. If you don’t have a UV light in your central heating and air system we recommend the REME HALO® in-duct air purifier, this one light can purify every cubic foot of the air your heating and air system reaches.
