Last week started at the Clemson Brick Forum and ended with a few good customer visits on the road.

We had some good conversations at Clemson, then got to spend time in plants talking through current equipment, upcoming projects and a few areas where Bongioanni Macchine spa or Bernini Impianti srl may be able to help.

Every plant is a little different, and seeing the process in person makes those conversations a lot more useful.

Fiber lasers have gotten incredibly fast as available power has continued to increase.

But more power isn’t automatically the better investment for every shop.

A 12kW laser and a 6kW laser can make sense for very different applications. We want to know what materials you’re cutting, the thickness range, part sizes, how much you’re running and what you’re trying to improve over your current process.

Sometimes more power is absolutely worth it. Sometimes you’d be paying for capability you’re unlikely to use.

International Manufacturing Technology Show 2026 is in the books and it was a busy week in Chicago.

We spent a lot of time with Hurco Companies Inc. and had the opportunity to see the new Max6 control, their new automatic pallet changer, ProCobot automation and a good mix of milling, turning and 5-axis equipment. We also spent time around the Takumi USA machines in the booth.

Outside of Hurco, we covered a lot of ground and spent time with WFL Millturn Technologies GmbH & Co. KG, Correa, Willis Machinery and quite a few other manufacturers throughout the show.

Having this much equipment in one place gives us a chance to see what’s new, spend time with the people behind it and get a better understanding of where different machines and technologies fit.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with us or stopped by the Hurco booth to say hello.

We took plenty of pictures and videos, so we’ll be sharing more from the show over the next couple of weeks.

We’re set up at the Clemson Brick Forum this week with Bongioanni Macchine spa.

We’ve been looking forward to this one. It gives us a chance to spend a few days with people from across the brick and structural clay industry, catch up with customers and talk about some of the projects plants are working on.

CWM represents Bongioanni here in the U.S. for heavy clay machinery and equipment, along with Bernini Impianti srl for kiln burners and firing systems.

IMTS is next week and we're ready to get up to Chicago.

Clinton Wenzel, Mike McKee and I will be there throughout the show. We'll spend a good portion of our time with Hurco, but we'll also be walking the floor, meeting with customers and visiting several of the other manufacturers we work with.

There will be plenty to see in the Hurco booth, including machining and turning centers, 5-axis equipment, ProCobot automation and Takumi machines.

IMTS is coming up quickly and CWM will be there throughout the show.

We'll be spending a good portion of our time with Hurco in Booth 338319 in the South Building, Level 3. It's a great location right in the middle of the Metal Removal section.

We'll also be walking the show, meeting with customers and visiting several of the other manufacturers we work with.

If you've been considering adding a mill, this is a good time to take another look.

There is a good range of machines included depending on the part size, capacity, and floor space you're working with.
