Project Summary
The Liberty House is a two story building located at 75 W Baker St, in Manchester and is a nonprofit transitional house for veterans in need.. The HVAC/R Club from Manchester Community College previously volunteered their time and effort to overhaul their aging heating system, and have taken notice of a greater need for a complete system replacement. Presently, the Liberty House
possesses two severely outdated steam boilers with a host of safety issues. These boilers are located in a full basement; with steam piping and various radiators throughout the two floors. Mismatched parts and improper techniques plague the system piping and are potentially dangerous. After assessing the condition of the equipment, further investigation led to a staggering cost of fuel for the previous two years; in excess of $1,500 per billing. This organization has performed good deeds for hundreds of veterans, and it would only be right to repay them with one good deed of our own. The president of the HVAC/R Club, Michael Whitney, had decided the need for a safe, reliable, fuel-efficient heating system is too great to ignore, and has taken it upon himself to ensuring this idea becomes a reality. And now, thanks to his efforts, the now dubbed “Liberty House Project” is passed the design process and on its way to the scheduled installation in May. We are looking to anyone and everyone for donations to fund this cause, we will recognize all those who participate! Donations can be made by check or online at:
