Lynchburg Area Joint Fire & Ambulance District

Lynchburg Area Joint Fire & Ambulance District Dedicated to serving the citizens of Dodson, Salem, Union, and Hamer Townships and Village of Lynchburg

Our department is equipped with three (3) ambulances that are Advanced Life Support equipped, three (3) Fire Engines with 1,250 gallon per minute pumps and 1,000 gallons of water, one tanker/tender (1,800 gallons), two (2) brush fire vehicles, and two (2) staff vehicles, which are operated primarily by the officer staff. We recently received a new 3000 gallon tanker through a federal grant. We are

training and equipping the new vehicle to serve our citizens and visitors better. The District is staffed from 06:00am to 06:00pm with one of our first two Full-time line staff members and and part time member, and from 6:00pm to 6:00 am with 1 Full- time or Part-time staff member, on station. They are responsible for care and maintenance of the station and the equipment. They are capable of responding more quickly to whatever emergency may come in. The remainder of the time, we are staffed by volunteer sign up which should be one EMT and a Duty Officer. The volunteer coverage is primarily for EMS coverage, but they respond to fires call in the district in a first emergency first style scheduling.

Today we took delivery of 3 battery powered positive pressure fans and rescue struts with accessories. We were able to purchase this equipment with a grant from the State of Ohio. We strive to replace outdated equipment and purchase new equipment with grants when possible to save local tax dollars.
