Ropes that actually stretch.
We rate ours for 30%. They stretch more. So why don’t you ever see this much stretch on Instagram? Because you shouldn’t.
My Ford is 12,000 lb. This 1” rope, rated 33,000 lb, was at a 2.75 safety factor against it. We recommend 3.2 to 5. But this SUV was axle-deep in mud, dead engine, in neutral, and my winch was pulling me into a lake. So we made a call. Slow, controlled pull. Everyone knew the risk.
Here’s the deal: a kinetic rope is the most dangerous tool in any recovery. Always winch first. If you need the rope, stay inside the safety factor and we’ll back it for life.
If you don’t believe me, buy a cheap Amazon rope and pull it. Most won’t hit 30. Some won’t even hold the eye. Then come buy a real one.
