In this video we make an expedient version of the EasyBox that can be made in a single step: one & done! We also build our own setup from scratch to see what's involved -- it turns out to be easy.

As always, this is intended for everybody in the Fusion 360 community who doesn’t have their own CNC machine, but would like to use one.

Prerequisites: some knowledge of CAM and CNC machining. There are great CAM learning videos available to the Fusion 360 community.

Not-a-prerequisite: Having your own CNC Machine, because the video uses a SendItCNC cloud CNC machine.

This video goes through the steps of completing the EasyBox project started in the previous video (Quick Intro to SendItCNC).

The box is flipped over for the second operation where we machine the bottom of the box.

In this video we go through the steps of preparing for a probing operation to accurately align the second operation features with the 1st operation.

SendItCNC Quick Vid: Haas Coolant-thru Carbide Drills

We recently received some Haas solid-carbide, coolant-thru, DLC-coated drills, made specifically for drilling aluminum, and in this video we'll try one out.

The drill we're using is .2008 inches in diameter (that's 5.1mm). It's sized to make a hole that can be threaded with a ¼-20 tap. We’re going to use an ER-16 collet chuck with a special coolant-sealing ER-16 collet.

Check out the very small coolant holes in the tip of the drill. You'll see the considerable jets of coolant flowing out of those tiny coolant ports.

We’re using the recommended cutting parameters. 12,700 RPM and an impressive vertical feedrate of 95 inches per minute.

The result: 4 holes all the way through ¾ inch thick aluminum, in just 5 seconds.
