The new Snell SA2020 helmets have been released for sale and I/O Port Racing Supplies has stock in some of the Bell Helmets line. Unfortunately, Bell only sent us a few. Pyrotect, HJC and Simpson do not have any SA2020 helmets available yet--only providing part numbers of models that will be released later this year or into next year. Pickings are slim, but if you want a Bell M8 helmet in medium or large, we have your helmet here waiting. Give me a call at 1-800-949-5712 to arrange to stop by. Don't wait, they will be gone soon. (If you want a good deal on a closeout SA2015, we have a few left as well.)

We weren't fast this weekend at Sonoma Raceway, but we were able to add a win sticker to the car after the Saturday race. Thanks to my crew chief, Scott Cornell, for great spotting of the green flag, I was able to move up and pass the pole-sitter in class (Ron Dale) and several cars in front of him (out of class) and then keep Ron behind me for the rest of the race. A shout-out to Joey Genitempo (and his crew chief, Fred) from SoCal who came in 3rd both days for giving me his spare battery so that I could race after my brand new battery went open circuit. Ron did a brilliant job driving on Sunday after I again got by him on the start. He worked his way around me and kept me behind him for the rest of the race.

A few days ago I announced that Bell Helmets reduced their price on the Vador down to $299.95. Today Bell announced a "sale" of their composite helmets. This is not just "in stock", but every color and every size on every non-carbon helmet. Our Web site has the new pricing up and ready for you to order. The sale is until the end of the month, but don't put this off, order now and have a new helmet for when the tracks open back up next month (hopefully).

I don't normally post about sales or products, but I thought I would let my Facebook friends know that Bell Helmets just made a price reduction on their Vador helmet. I/O Port Racing Supplies now has this $499.95 helmet at a closeout price of $299.95, while supplies last.

I was looking forward to the first NASA NorCal event this weekend at Sears Point. I was sorry to hear that Sonoma Raceway had to cancel the event on NASA due to the governor's announcement regarding mass gatherings. Jerry Kunzman got the word out quickly. Here is his message for those that did not receive it:

We had everything under control for this weekend’s event, but the governor put out a message that was echoed by the office of emergency services.

Based on this, the track’s management, after careful consideration and with regrets, cancelled the NASA event at Sonoma Raceway at approximately 3:15pm local time. I can assure you that the track is not taking this lightly.

Obviously, we will have to do some refunding / credits, which will take a little time. We also have notified Trans Am of the cancellation. There is a lot more to do on our end, so we ask for some patience while we clean up the mess. I ask that you refrain from contacting office management so we can get the work done that we need.

I/O Port was at Laguna Seca this last weekend for the 2019 ReFuel Time Trials hosted by Speed Ventures. Our team drivers, Billy Kwan and Scott Cornell took the top two spots on the podium in Production Class driving Chevy Bolts. The Bolts are their daily driver cars and are unmodified except for R-Compound tires. They also beat quite a few Teslas running in Production GT Class! Congratulations Billy and Scott on the same top result for 3 years running!

I/O Port now has vinyl cutting capabilities and is doing race car numbers and lettering. We have currently 27 different colors up to 24" wide and about 8' long. We can do just about any typeface plus we can convert jpg files. Let us know if we can help you on your car or trailer graphics.
