I’ve decided to get my Ukrainian Citizenship. (Ayla and I)
A. Because I qualify
B. Because I have an American Grampa and 143 years of American history but was was still arrested with my 7 year old and incarcerated for three weeks only to bond out with crowd support.
Then fitted with an ankle monitor and subjected to ongoing ice meetings and unlawful tracking.
This is basically to show how insane this administration is and how other countries not only celebrate their own descendants, they invite them back.
The pre requisites are documents proving the line and a basic knowledge of the Ukrainian Constitution and language.

Checking into medical was one of the most uncomfortable parts for me. They took my labs, asked their questions, and I saw it. She told me straight up that I was marked as “a risk.” And I remember thinking: a risk of what?

A risk for needing care? A risk for speaking up? A risk for not staying quiet? Because in that moment, it didn’t feel like healthcare. It felt like being labeled and managed instead of helped.

I need people to understand this: “just go back to Canada” isn’t a simple option, and it’s not financially feasible for me right now. Uprooting a whole life costs real money, and no, I don’t have $60k sitting around to “tear the rug out” overnight. (Unless someone wants to fork that out… then sure, I’d consider it.)

But even beyond the money, what you’re really asking is for me to abandon stability my child needs. My daughter’s autism diagnosis, her supports, and her IEP aren’t things I’m willing to gamble with to make other people more comfortable with their idea of what’s best for my family.

And I’m not leaving my animals behind either. We’re building a safe, supported life where we are, and I’m making decisions based on my child’s needs and our reality, not outside opinions.

In Dilly, medical intake did not feel like care. It felt like a script. Like they were trained to look straight through your trauma, not name it, not acknowledge it, and definitely not offer real support for it.

And that is the part that messes with your head, because if they never acknowledge what is happening to you, they can pretend it is not happening at all. But you are still a human being sitting in front of them, living it in real time. Link in bio

Two months today.

Two months of wearing an ankle monitor. Two months of being under ISAP. Two months of trying to keep life moving forward anyway—showing up for my daughter and I, my health, and my future.

I’m recouping from a PCOS/PMOS flare up today and I went down a research rabbit hole and it honestly shocked me how easy it can be to access passports in other countries based on heritage and family ties in Europe. I can’t get a British passport because England is more difficult but I have had a three year ancestry visa there before and it was incredibly easy to get.

And I want to draw attention to this bigger point. Heritage gets treated like a doorway in so many places and yet my 143 years of American heritage means nothing to the United States. My grandfather’s American citizenship means nothing when I can be stripped of my liberty stripped of my dignity and stripped of my heritage. That isn’t OK.
