Fifty years on the job is a milestone few people ever reach — and at Acme Block & Brick, we are proud to celebrate Larry Stephens for doing just that.
Larry’s journey began straight out of high school when he hired on with Fentress Block, starting what would become his first and only career. Over the last five decades, Larry has become a familiar face, a dependable leader, and an integral part of the company’s history and growth.
Throughout his career, Larry has worn just about every hat imaginable within the operation — everything except sales. From working in the block yard operating heavy equipment to later moving into the block plant around 1978, Larry has dedicated himself to learning every aspect of the business. His strong work ethic, loyalty, and willingness to step in wherever needed have made a lasting impact on generations of employees and customers alike.
In 2021, Acme Block & Brick proudly acquired Fentress Block, bringing together two respected names in the masonry industry. Through that transition and many years before it, Larry remained a steady and trusted part of the team, helping carry forward the values and craftsmanship the company was built on.
Reaching 50 years with one company is a rare accomplishment in today’s world. Larry’s commitment speaks volumes not only about his character, but also about the pride he takes in his work and the relationships he has built along the way.
Today, we celebrate not just an employee, but a legacy.
