Sambar battery cover update. I got some drips because I painted outside and in the wind but it looks ok from 5 feet away. …dammit, now the whole frame has to be done to match!

Hey gang! Finally took a little time today to paint the steel OEM battery cover that I picked up a while back from 500 Yen Shop. (Link below to the part, it's like 1,600¥ (~$10 USD)).

Picked up some acid etch primer and some satin "rollbar / chassis" paint (both spray cans) to test out. It was windy, I was outside - got some drips. It's not a show truck though - yet. :)

Up with the chickens to prepare the (daily driver) 1997 Subaru Sambar Super Deluxe Classic for today’s .hawaii (instagram) meetup and Toys for TOTs drive at the Pearl Harbor NEX. Pics of clean truck in first post because of stupid Facebook limitation about videos and photos in the same post. :/

Super late notification - RHD Hawaii (Right Hand Drive Car Club) is having a "Toys for Tots" event tomorrow at the NEX (Navy Exchange, Pearl Harbor - 4725 Bougainville Dr, Honolulu, HI 96818... uh... tomorrow morning. 😶

Event is from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

I'll be getting up at my "normal work time" to get out there and wash the truck and make it all pretty, then popping over to the MCX (Marine Corps Exchange) to pick up a toy (unwrapped) before launching myself over the H-3 to get to the NEX. :)

Just in case you don't know, I'll be the 6'6" dude with the Subaru Sambar Super Deluxe Classic pickup (KS3) pictured alongside the event ad.
