After 10 years at NASA building exhibits, I started Saucy Woods to create custom cabinetry for homes throughout Friendswood, League City, and Clear Lake. On this day in 1980, this photo was taken—34 years after we first began operating in the same space. Peep the Missouri-Kentucky-Texas railroad tracks in the top left that came to be what we know now as the MKT Walking trail.

We may have lost a building or two over the years, but we’ve gained a whole neighborhood growing around us. Having a community by your side is key to keeping a local place like this going.
