🏁 Closed out the season with a podium finish Saturday night!

After starting 7th in the main event, we brought it home 3rd. Hard to be disappointed with a podium, but we knew from the time we unloaded that we were about 3–4 tenths off where we needed to be.

We were 3rd quick overall early, ran 3rd in the heat, and finished 3rd in the feature. Consistent? Absolutely. But the car just didn’t respond like it did the week before. When we tried to get over on the right front, it would shear traction and pick up a push that carried through the corner.

Something is obviously still bent or bound up from our contact with the wall while racing for the win the week before. We’ll get it figured out and come back better.

Overall, it was a fun season being back with Bush Race Cars. We learned a lot, had speed, raced up front, and hopefully helped Mark sell a few cars along the way! 😎

We won our heat race and finished 2nd in the Feature at the Highland Speedway last night. Had a run on the top with 2 to go, but a great defensive move by Jacob Steinkoenig got him to the checkers first. Great race and congrats to Jacob.

Fast Time, Heat Race and Feature Win at Coles County Speedway!

First time at the track, went to make sure we had our issues resolved. The wins are just a bonus. Real win is that the car is shook down and is fast again.

Cut down a RF in the feature after cracking into the top 5 from our 10th place starting position. We have to improve on our heat race performance if we want to be in position to win. Congrats to Jacob Steinkoenig on the win.

Highland Speedway | 05.09.26

Heat: P2 ➡️ P6 (two broken shocks)
Feature: P12 ➡️ P4 (broken shock, bent jbar)

Going to assess the damage further now - as much as I want to give you guys a race recap and describe the speed of the car, it wasn’t really about that last night.

Name of the game was miss the curb sized ruts and any cars it was collecting with it.

At the end of the day we all chose to race last night whether it was worth it or not.

Going to regroup, have a LONG week at the shop and be back at it next week! 🤙🏻
