Central Wisconsin has taken a beating from mother nature this spring. Just a few weeks ago, we got hammered with a heavy ice storm over two straight days doing serious damage, especially to the younger regrowth. It’s tough to see and definitely sets the timeline back for these aspen and birch stands.

The woods are resilient. With time, it will regenerate and try again. Meister Logging will be there to help landowners in need for decades to come.

Yesterday Dad and I loaded up the trailers and headed to Ringle to help wherever we could after last Friday’s tornado.

It’s hard to put into words seeing the damage firsthand. Absolutely heartbreaking for the families and neighbors affected. But at the same time, it was powerful to see people showing up, working side by side, doing whatever it takes to help each other.

Michael Meister Logging is offering free support to anyone in need:
• Skid loader with bucket
• Truck and dump trailer
• Chainsaw work

If you or someone you know needs help with cleanup, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ll do everything we can to lend a hand and keep things moving.

I plan to get back over there again soon. This community isn’t going through this alone. Ringle is strong, and will rebuild together.

Tuesday, Meister Logging had the opportunity to welcome members of the Ponsse family from around the globe! 🌎

It was a privilege to meet the President of Ponsse Uruguay, along with service managers from both Uruguay and Brazil. Great conversations were had sharing insights on silviculture across continents and showcasing our northern hardwood and plantation pine harvesting operations here in Wisconsin. 🌲

A big thank you to Bart and Jerry from Ponsse North America for making this visit possible. We truly appreciate the connection and collaboration!

Spring road limits are right around the corner here in Marathon County, Wisconsin, and that means the push is on to keep wood moving. Huge thank you to the great trucking partners that help keep MML’s products rolling down the road every single day.

From the black ash swamps of Rosholt to the high ground hardwoods in Bevent 🪵

We transitioned job sites this week and established a landing with breaker rock material to keep the wood moving as spring thaw begins.

Ethan at AxeFoot Forestry prepared this MFL private property ahead of harvest, and it’s exciting to see the small hardwood and white pine regeneration that will really take off once sunlight hits the forest floor. 🌲☀️

Sometimes all it takes is leverage! Wisconsin temperature swings don’t go easy on seals, hoses, or fittings. A few fixes made this morning in single-digit temps, and the Ponsse machines are back up and working hard again.

A few weeks ago, Meister Logging welcomed the Wausau West and Wausau East Advanced Environmental classes to one of our job sites. We spoke briefly about machine operation and our commitment to sustainable forest management for our private landowners each and every day.

Students paired up and had the opportunity to experience the Ponsse harvester and forwarder from inside the cabs offering a completely different point of view! They also learned about tree marking and the forestry side of the operation.

A big thank you to our wood procurement buyers from Ahlstrom Mosinee Mill for helping set up this visit. We truly appreciate the opportunity to share what we do.
