A Hagerstown-area company shifted from its normal business recently to help with a rush order of more than 100,000 units of personal protective equipment.

DVF Corporation is seeking a full-time temporary Machine Operator at its facility in Hagerstown, MD. This position could lead to a full-time position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• The position requires an Operator to remove molded plastic parts in boxes and place the parts into fixtures in a Machining Center. The Machining Center will perform modifications to the plastic part and the Operator will replace with fresh parts.
• After machining, the Operator will inspect parts to confirm conformance to drawing dimensional and surface finish requirements. DVF will provide training on the use of standard gauges used to perform these inspections.
• The Operator maybe required to use various tools (sandpaper, wire brush…) to remove burrs left on the plastic parts. The operator will also use compressed air to blow plastic chips from the finished parts.
• The Operator will then return the machined parts to the box.
• Perform various shop duties as needed (washing parts, sweeping)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read measurement equipment (calipers, gauges, micrometer.) “Preferred”
• Ability to use basic hand tools (screw drivers, grinders, etc.)
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Physical ability to perform various shop related tasks, including prolonged periods of standing and ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Positive attitude and willingness to adapt to different tasks
• Must be self-motivated and able to pay attention to detail
