What does bridge deck repair actually look like? 👀

Sometimes it starts with a small hole like this.

When deteriorated concrete is identified, the damaged material is removed to expose the reinforcing steel and get back to solid concrete. From there, our crew can properly prepare the area and rebuild the section of the bridge deck.

It might not look pretty at this stage, but this is an important part of extending the life of the structure and keeping it safe for the traffic that travels over it every day.

Remove the bad. Repair it right. Build it to last.

A lot going on in Garwin, IA today.

This Boulder crew is laying down 100 yards of concrete for footings that will hold new wall systems being installed to the GMG school district for more space. This school and community have been working on these plans for a long time now and we're proud to be a part of their expansion.

A little backstory on Chad.

Chad started out pouring concrete at the young age of 18. On June 6th, 1994 to be exact. In these last 32 years of pouring concrete he worked an average of 12-14 hour days. We ran the math on that and Chad has put in over 90,000 working hours in his concrete lifetime. All of those hours doing one thing, perfecting his craft. The knowledge he holds in this field of work is endless and it shows on every single job. We are proud to have him here at Boulder Contracting.

Doing Boulder things today.

We teamed up with the Butler-Grundy Development Alliance to have this beautiful new home installed in Beaman, IA. This has been a great project to work on with all local contractors involved. This will bring another new home option for a family looking to live in a great small town right here in Grundy County.

Being the general contractor on this and teaming up with our local non-profits to enhance our surrounding communities is something we take pride in and are happy to be a part of.

From our team that poured the foundation for this home to the final walk-through, we're here or it all.
