Before Route 66… before interstates… before GPS… there was the Lincoln Highway. 🇺🇸🚗

On June 3, 1916, the Lincoln Highway became one of America’s first fully promoted transcontinental automobile routes — stretching coast to coast and helping launch the country’s obsession with road trips and adventure travel.

Imagine attempting a cross-country drive back then.

Back then, drivers raced brick roads at insane speeds with almost no safety equipment. No HANS devices. No modern helmets. No barriers. Just courage and horsepower.

In 1947, camper trailers started hitting the U.S. market… and Americans became obsessed with the idea of packing up and disappearing into the outdoors. 🏕️🇺🇸

Fast forward to today and camping has turned into a full-blown debate. 😂
