Custom ironwork deserves a finish that does it justice. 🖤

This hand-forged scrolling railing just rolled out of our booth with a fresh coat of satin black powder coat. Every leaf, curl, and swirl was blasted clean and coated evenly, so the craftsmanship shows instead of getting buried under a heavy finish.

Powder coating gives you a durable, chip-resistant finish that holds up to weather, wear, and time, which is exactly what a piece like this needs.

This week’s small business Friday goes out to Tiff’s Tidy Tasks, LLC. Another veteran owned company, that actually cleans my house too. 3 years is a big milestone for a leap of faith! Congrats Tiff and all the team for making it to this point!

As a fellow veteran and small business owner I know the struggle to keep the doors open! I personally love Andy’s pizza! It saddens me to see another veteran owned small business shut down in this city. Let’s do our part and say thank you to this great little restaurant until their final day! If you haven’t tried it yet I suggest you do before it’s too late! Their pizza is 100 times better than the national pizza chains around the city. They also have better ingredients! I know I will be eating there a few more times!!!

This post will be lengthy….

Years ago I learned to take lemons and make lemonade. I learned that being a servant to others was a much greater reward for myself then it was to just sit back and let life unfold as it was in front of me.

I have raised countless dollars for various families and organizations. I don’t say that to toot my horn, I say that because what came in front of me, I found a way to try and make a difference…hopefully good in most cases. Those experiences are part of what made me and our community come together…to serve those around us.

I took on owning a pizza shop because at the time, it was lemon that sat at my table and I had to figure out how to make it work. Never, did I imagine I would fall in love with making pizza! A joy and a place to unplug from life and just make pizza. Found creativity at the make table with more options to serve others. Was it for everyone, No! But it was for me to see and hear the satisfaction from many, that was a reward in itself! I found my peace inside these four walls. I was able to share my joy for making pizza and my collection of Kokomo history. And if you have been inside, I’m sure you have seen and shared conversation about what all is displayed.

I have had several employees and have had family step in and step up every time! Through busy nights, slow nights and fundraisers…they made it happen! My parents, they have helped me carry this for quite sometime and I appreciate they believed in me and they believed in this little shop as much as I did!! My sisters and brother, the staff…they are the real MVPs in this building! They have been here through damn near all of it.

The service industry is tough and the public can be tough too! Takes a thick skin to deal with some of the things said or done. And I’m no saint, I have always had high expectations! Almost to a fault, I have given to satisfy and sometimes it is just a tough customer.

It’s with a very sad feeling that I announce that October 2, 2026 will be the last day for Andy’s to be open for business. Business operating costs high and sales numbers dropping I can no longer sustain keeping these doors open. It’s a harsh reality when you put numbers to paper.

I can’t thank our customers and staff enough!!! This experience has been amazing! Every learning experience has been appreciated! Every organization and those we partnered with in the community, thank you!! You helped keep a dream alive for awhile longer!

I’m not going anywhere, Kokomo is home and we have a lot of life to live!
