Let’s talk aftermarket parts!
I’ve had clients in the past say “ it’s a brand new part! Why did you need to add labor to it ?“ On this 56 f100 hood it came with an extra inch of material on the back and the at the nose where it met the under structure, the factory didn’t get the panels to overlap before spot welding so the spot welds we’re stretched and the two panels that should have been overlapped had 3/16 of space between them 😳. In this instance, manufacturer imperfections in after market production accounted for the extra time spent creating an acceptable result.

We’ve been a little bit busy the last few weeks, we’ve been in the painting process on the 56 f100, going over each part making sure everything was ready. Here is a glimpse! House of Kolor cobalt blue Kandy over Porsche lapis blue metallic.

We welded the front panel to the bed, had to make 2 wedges to finish the reach to the top of the bed rails, the tailgate was made from the factory style latch/chain/hooks so we had to make 2 peaces to fill in the reliefs that were put there for the latch/chain/hooks. This next week we will see a little color
