Hicken Lumber & Home Center is hiring for a customer service and lumber yard representative!
Job Duties:
Receiving and Inspecting: Checking incoming shipments of lumber and building materials for accuracy and quality.
Stocking and Organizing: Sorting, stacking, and organizing lumber and other materials in the yard or warehouse according to type, size, and grade.
Customer Service: Assisting customers in selecting and loading materials, providing information on products, and answering questions.
Operating Equipment: Using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move and transport materials safely.
Cutting and Fabricating: Cutting lumber and materials to specified dimensions using saws or other cutting equipment.
Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting periodic counts, and replenishing stock as needed.
Safety and Maintenance: Ensuring a clean and safe work environment, following safety protocols for handling materials and equipment, and performing routine maintenance tasks on tools and machinery.
Loading and Unloading: Assisting with loading customer vehicles or delivery trucks with materials.
Work Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in customer service or a similar role preferred.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in outdoor conditions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Valid drivers license.
