One of the commitments we made from the beginning was to let independent testers evaluate the CFI Enforcer and share their honest experiences.

Nakea from Brew2L has completed another round of testing on his Fox body Mustang, and the results continue to mirror our in-house testing. This latest video covers baseline tuning, drivability, and how the system behaves once everything is dialed in.

If you’ve been following the CFI project — or you’re simply curious how Carburetor Fuel Injection works in real world conditions — this update is worth a watch.

Thank you again to Nakea for the time, professionalism, and willingness to document the process.

Why "Dynamic Adaptability" Matters

Most tuning discussions focus on steady-state conditions:

• Idle AFR
• Cruise AFR
• Wide-open throttle AFR

Those are important—but the real world isn't steady-state.

Every drive includes constantly changing conditions:

• Cold starts
• Tip-in and tip-out
• Gear changes
• Changing loads
• Weather
• Fuel quality
• Altitude

The real engineering challenge isn't simply achieving the correct AFR.

It's minimizing both the magnitude and the duration of fueling error as those conditions continually change.

That's what is meant by “dynamic adaptability”.

An adaptive fuel control system continuously refines fueling as conditions change, allowing the engine to remain much closer to its ideal operating condition throughout the drive.

It's not just about reaching the correct AFR.

It's about how quickly—and how consistently—the system stays there.

We've had quite a few people asking to see the CFI Enforcer Series in action.

Nakea from Brew2L recently spent time installing the system, driving the car, and discussing the technology with Steve from AMP Engine Management.

Rather than a commercial, it's an honest look at how the system works, why it was developed, and what it feels like on the road.

If you've been wondering how CFI differs from both a traditional carburetor and a full EFI conversion, this is a good place to start.
We'd love to hear your thoughts after you've watched it.

Question:

Can you find the CFI Enforcer injector-plate system in this photo?

One of the most common misconceptions is that CFI replaces the carburetor.

It doesn't.

The carburetor remains in place and continues to function as the engine's primary air and fuel metering device.

Take your best guess.

Why would two veteran carburetor builders design a product with EFI-style technology?

Because decades of hands-on experience taught them exactly where a carburetor shines — and where it struggles.

John Kyle and Mike Laws have spent their careers designing, building, tuning, and supplying high-performance carburetors for racers and street enthusiasts across the country. They understand the strengths of a carburetor exceptionally well — and they also understand the limitations that show up in real-world operation:

• Weather swings
• Temperature changes
• Altitude differences
• Fuel inconsistencies
• Traffic and heat soak
• Cold starts
• Part-throttle drivability

Instead of replacing the carburetor, they set out to solve those specific limitations while keeping everything people love about a carburetor.

That collaboration is what led to the CFI Enforcer approach:

A carburetor-forward system that adds adaptive, sensor-driven fuel correction without turning the engine into a full EFI conversion.

Two carb guys didn’t build CFI in spite of their experience — they built it because of their experience.

For many enthusiasts, carburetors were never just about fuel delivery.

They became part of the personality of the engine itself.

The sound.
The throttle feel.
The smell.
The mechanical simplicity.
The ritual of cold starts and warm-ups.
The visual presence sitting on top of the intake.

EFI solved many legitimate problems.

But in solving them, something mechanical and analog was also lost for many enthusiasts.

That’s part of why carburetors never truly disappeared from performance culture.

And it’s also part of why the idea behind CFI was never to erase the carburetor…

It was to preserve the carbureted experience while helping reduce some of the compromises that traditionally came with it.

Recent discussions and DM’s suggest the CFI concept is still not immediately understood by many enthusiasts — which is completely understandable.

For decades, the automotive world has largely viewed carburetors and EFI as opposing philosophies. Almost like the Hatfields & McCoys of air/fuel delivery.

CFI was never designed to “replace” EFI.

It recognizes that OEM manufacturers transitioned away from carburetors for many very legitimate reasons:

• environmental adaptability
• cold-start behavior
• fuel efficiency
• emissions
• and operating consistency across changing conditions

But it also recognizes that carburetors still possess characteristics many enthusiasts and racers genuinely value:

• booster signal behavior
• charge cooling
• airflow characteristics
• throttle feel
• wet-flow dynamics
• simplicity
• appearance
• and mechanical personality

So instead of treating carburetors and EFI as enemies competing against each other…

CFI asks a different question:

What might happen if the strengths of both systems were intelligently combined?

That philosophy is what led to the development of the CFI system.
