Our posts are normally pretty lighthearted, but today we’re using this snapshot from 2009 to honor a man who meant the world to the Kaeser family. 🍦
Last month, we lost Wayne Perry, Kaeser’s first Technical Director. Wayne dedicated 45 years to the compressed air industry, and we were fortunate to have him on the Kaeser team for 22 years before he retired. To say he left an indelible mark on our industry would be an understatement. Affectionately known to many as "The Godfather of Compressed Air," Wayne was the ultimate expert, mentor, teacher, and friend.
Our current Technical Director recently shared what it was like to work alongside Wayne:
"In life you rarely meet someone with such intelligence, charisma, and comic timing. His knowledge seemed endless. If I wanted to know how a poppet valve compressor worked, he wouldn't just explain it; he’d teach a master class on the intricacies of the design... Just watching him work a room was a thing of beauty. Wayne gave customers great advice, and I’ve never seen anyone close a deal so astutely. Plus, he was always up for ice cream, a donut or a glass of red wine after work-- which made even hard travel days enjoyable."
Wayne's expertise and quick wit were matched by his kindness. Even in retirement, he kept in touch with his colleagues, and he delighted in watching Kaeser continue to thrive.
We are deeply grateful for the 22 years of wisdom, leadership, and laughter Wayne gifted us. Rest easy, Wayne. You are greatly missed by your Kaeser family and the entire compressed air community. 💙
